Rihanna the Caribbean princess of the Valerian Red Carpet

On Monday, the singer and actress amped up the drama on the black carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, wearing a perfectly pastel pink dress complete with long-flowing train.

Along with the countless yards of tulle, Rihanna’s off-the-shoulder Giambattista Valli Couture creation featured a short dress, billowy sleeves and cinched in waistline. And if the couture level wasn’t high already, the style star dressed her long legs in custom Manolo Blahnik shoes that criss crossed up her calves.

Though a ball gown is most commonly seen at the Oscars or the Met Ball, Rihanna brought her grand diva style to a movie premiere.

Make way for aka on the scene at the black carpet world premiere.

Co-star Cara Delevingnealso chose couture for the red carpet, a 3-D-printed gown by Iris van Herpen. The silver dress was sculptural and dizzying and a perfect fit for the star of a space-age action film.

Carl F. Bucherer Returns to the Big Screen and Red Carpet with Atomic Blonde

The Action-Packed Spy Thriller Atomic Blonde from Director and Carl F. Bucherer Brand Ambassador David Leitch Premieres In Berlin

Charlize Theron stars in Atomic Blonde, along with such leading names as James McAvoy, John Goodman, Sofia Boutella, and Til Schweiger. The extraordinary timepieces from Carl F. Bucherer also play a starring role in the movie, continuing the Swiss watch manufacturer’s successful involvement with the movie industry. Charlize Theron and a host of Hollywood stars walked the red carpet at last night’s Berlin Atomic Blonde premiere, which took place at  the  theater in Potsdamer Platz.

Two of Carl F. Bucherer brand ambassadors brought the film to life, with David Leitch directing the action thriller. As co-director of John Wick and executive producer of John Wick: Chapter 2, Leitch has demonstrated his mastery of the action-thriller genre. The film also stars Swiss actor and Carl F. Bucherer ambassador Daniel Bernhardt as the villain.  Watches from the Lucerne-based brand also play an important role – but you’ll have to watch the movie to find out more details.

Irene Major Talks Human Rights in Africa & Ghana Meets Naija

Irene Major is currently carrying a baby but you wouldn't even know it by all the major moves she's making. The gorgeous doting wife, model, mother, socialite and singer has been on the forefront of a human rights campaign that she curated to protect the lives of the LGBT community in Africa who are targeted, abused and at times have been killed because of their sexuality. As a woman who was raised to love without discrimination and borders, Irene felt compelled to create the G.I.Y campaign in the hopes that her efforts and awareness will help pass legislation that can protect the LGBT community from being victimized.

"I believe in fairness and human rights for all.  Personally I don't think that you can be a person of faith and condone abuse and killings.  Right is right and wrong is wrong.  My hope is to bring Africa together in a way that allows every individual to thrive and live a life without fear and prejudice. My stance on human rights is against any type of violence towards anyone including children and women.  Too often we validate abuse because of tradition but we have to advance from this," shared Major.

Well if there is one thing that brings people together its music.  Irene recently jumped on board for the Ghana Meets Naija concert that will take place in the U.K for the first time.  Spearheaded by award winning broadcaster, Bola Ray, Ghana’s leading events powerhouse, Empire Entertainments has joined forces with UK’s prominent Afro-culture promoters to premiere the International Edition of the “Ghana Meets Naija” concert on Friday, 25th August 2017.  "Everything Bola Ray touche turns to gold so I feel so blessed to be part of Ghana Meets Naija," explained Major.

The company’s flagship event has been a purely Ghanaian-Nigerian musical concert meant to showcase top musicians from both nations as they indulge the audience in a thrilling party atmosphere. Wizkid, Davido, Shatta Wale and Tiwa Savage have all been part of the mega concert. The upcoming edition will showcase various top international acts.  With the combined prowess of Abrantee (UK), Akwaaba (UK), Alordia Promotions (UK), Desire Events (UK) and West Coast Entertainment (UK), the anticipated sell-out-show will feature performances from both foreign and UK-based artistes, a titillating DJ battle and a rave into the early morning hours. Irene says it was only common sense that she came on board as a sponsor. “I support anything that is uplifting, African and brings people together.  We need to come together put differences aside and build and grow,” said Major.

Although not girl groups, '90s artists like Brandy, Monica, and Usher came from the school of media training, extensive practice, raw vocal talent and, the major key: fans' ability to unceasingly want everything these artists released. Rehearsal, studio time, media prep and fan-demonium were king.

'90s girl groups like En Vogue, TLC and Xscape ruled this school, making crazed fanatics eat up everything they served.  Other girl groups include Brownstone, 702, Destiny's Child and the Spice Girls to slay stages while their little sisters Elektrik Red, Danity Kane, Little Mix, Fifth Harmony, Good Girl, Glamour and June's Diary watched.

Harlem Eat Up!!

"Harlem Eat Up" Food Festival

By Mitchell Acks

The 3rd annual Harlem EatUp! Festival is no ordinary festival that one had the chance to taste some of the finest foods of chefs from Harlem and elsewhere.

We went to the The Ultimate Grand Tasting (Ticketed Event) on May 21, 2017, where we enjoyed tastings of Harlem's favorite restaurants accompanied by an assortment of fine wines, beers and cocktails, in an all-you-can-eat format.  This day was less crowded than their The Ultimate Grand Tasting on May 20, 2017 where we have plenty of space to enjoy in Morningside Park.

This festival had a fine balance of 25 participants paired with delicious wine, spirits and beer. Also, one had the chance to learn from leading experts of Bordeaux Wine with 30 minute wine classes each hour, led by Gorman-McAdams MW, along with leading tutors Linda Lawry and my good friend, Robin Kelly O'Connor.

Robin, a leading wine educator, international wine judge, wine writer, and sommelier.

Citi Card Members and Press were able to enjoy the neat Citi Card member Lounge with Chef appearances, specialty cocktails and tasty bites. Citi is a founding sponsor of Harlem EatUp!.

Many would enjoy the Mortadella Deviled Eggs with ramp pesto prepared Chef Kolin Vazzoler paired with Simi Sonoma County Chardonnay was very tasty and different. Also, one had the chance to sample from Citi Market Challenge Winner, Tsion Cafe & Bakery, noted for their Ethiopian food like their Doro Tibs of Chicken, berbere, tomatoes, spices, injera. They were serving at the Citi Lounge and another booth. The Chicken Taco from Sexy Taco/Dirty Cash also was very popular.

To finish the fine food and drinks were delicious samplings of desserts.  The Alcohol Infused Cupcakes  were just right in taste and size by NYC's Best Dressed Cupcakes LLC.  Also, many enjoyed the samplings by Harlem Chocolate Factory and Mere Viola's Sweet Delights.

Many danced first to the DJ  Stormin Norman of105.1 and then the talented musicians of the Rakiem Walker Project.

One also had a choice to go The Marketplace (Free Admission), that featured a pay-as-you-go selection of good eats from notable Harlem restaurants, food vendors, a wine and beer garden, the Whole Foods Market Kids' Zone, and the EatUp! Main Stage presented by Macy's where you can catch our home and visiting chefs cooking up live demos, as well as performances.

Also, there was the neat The EatUp! Main Stage presented by Macy's (Free Admission) for live culinary demos and performances featuring Harlem's chefs, musicians and dancers alongside guests from NYC and beyond. One had the golden opportunity to listen to talents like: Marcus Samuelsson, Karl Franz Williams (Solomon & Kuff Rum Hall/67 Orange); Brian Washington Palmer (Sexy Taco/Dirty Cash), Donatella Arpaia (Iron Chef); Roger Mooking (“Man Fire Food”), and more.

There were Dine In Harlem Dinners from May 16th to 19th of Harlem's hottest restaurants and  acclaimed chefs from NYC and across the country of their collaborative multi-course dinners . Menus were paired with a delicious selection of Bordeaux wines - red, white, rosé and sparkling- something for every palate; and, each dinner will feature dynamic Harlem artists and performers.

There were various attendees to lend their support. We took a picture of Chris Canty of New York Giants and Erik Coleman of the Jets.

The festival was founded by award-winning chef, international restaurateur, and cookbook author Marcus Samuelsson.  Also, Karlitz & Company', another founder, provides services range from producing Culinary Events & Festivals to Corporate Entertainment.

The Festival will donate net proceeds to impactful Harlem charities. These donations will be disbursed by the newly formed Harlem EatUp! Foundation, whose mission is to strengthen community by supporting the people, cultures and non-profit organizations such as Citymeals-on-Wheels and Harlem Park to Park that empower Harlem.

Citymeals on Wheels ( provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to New York City’s homebound elderly. Working in partnership with community-based organizations and senior centers, Citymeals prepares and delivers over 2 million weekend, holiday and emergency meals for more than 18,000 of our frail aged neighbors each year. Last year, over 15,000 individuals volunteered nearly 72,000 hours of their time.

Since its founding in 1981, Citymeals has relied on the generosity of its Board of Directors, the City of New York, sponsors and other designated gifts to cover administrative costs. This ensures that 100% of all public donations will be used entirely for the preparation and delivery of meals.

Harlem Park to Park (HP2P) is a neighborhood development organization of entrepreneurs committed to cultural preservation, small business and community development in Central Harlem, NYC’s premiere cultural, dining, shopping, lifestyle and nightlife hub north of 110th Street. About Banfi
Castello Banfi was founded in 1978 in Montalcino, Tuscany, thanks to the will of Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani. From the beginning, the goal of the two brothers was to create a state-of-the-art winery, combined with the most advanced technology in the vineyards, to make premium Italian wines. While developing the Castello Banfi estate, the Marianis also purchased an historic winery in Piedmont specialized in the production of sparkling wines; it was there that sparkling red Rosa Regale was born. Today, Castello Banfi is the premier wine estate in Italy, named VinItaly’s “Best Winery in the World” an unprecedented five times.

Angela Simmons represents all things glam and DHairBoutique represents all things luxury. What better combination than these power house brands collaborating for the launch of the NEW Luxury Tresses Collection.

Dhair is launched a Brooklyn location and to celebrate, area native Simmons. When creating this texture we kept in mind the fact Angela love for Glamorous Curls. In order to achieve this particular style, we needed hair that was thick and full from root to tip and of course luxurious. We also wanted hair that could be easily flat ironed as well as provide the texture needed to keep a nice beautiful curl.

BMW 2017 5-Series

An Evening of Performance,
Technology & Craftsmanship.
One of the world's premier sports competitions, the 35th America's Cup, and one of the world's premier sports sedans, the BMW 5-Series: Where extreme performance, advanced technology, and refined craftsmanship collide.

Inspired by BMW's Global Partnership of the 35th America's Cup in Bermuda, we invite you to join us for an intimate evening of island-inspired hors d'oeuvres and cocktails followed by an in-depth product presentation of the all-new, redesigned 2017 5-Series.  For BMW to return here with the seventh-generation car feels a bit like taking a mulligan on the outgoing model. It was a fine car but an unexceptional BMW, moving the 5-series closer to the 7 and distancing it from other cars that gave definition both to the modern sports sedan and to the brand itself.
